The Simple Ways To Relieve Stress

Ever felt so stressed or worried that you just can’t breathe? Or so overwhelmed that you just want to hide under a rock?

In the modern society, stress is considered a part of our lives. We are always worried: about our job, about our family and, of course, our bank account…

Stress consumes us, causing health problems and interfering with our ability to enjoy our life.
It is very important to take action against increased stress and anxiety for the protection of your mental and physical health.

So what can you do to relieve some of that stress?

I have discovered some great ways to relieve stress and relax, that take only a few minutes a day.
My life is so hectic and busy that I sometimes feel that I forget to breathe… now, when I find myself in stressful situation, I take a deep breath and clear my head of all the negative thoughts. I find it very relaxing and it helps me deal with almost anything…

You can relieve stress in many ways, but I think that the most popular (and efficient) way is meditation. It’s one of the oldest techniques invented by man and it has proven as a method of reducing stress.
Another effective way of relieving stress is exercise, of any form.
Also, you can listen to music, or read a book, or do anything else that makes you happy. A happy person is a relaxed one…

The most important thing is to be aware of yourself and take action when you feel stressed.

Here are 4 healthy ways that shows you how to relieve stress and forget the pressures of life.

Smile And Eat Right - Great Ways To Relieve Stress

Healthy Food

Most people think that stress only affects our mind, but it can also make us sick.

Stressful lifestyle can often lead to lousy eating habits which result in high blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol, diabetes, ulcer and other health problems.

Eating healthier and smarter is a sure way to relieve stress. The coffee or soda you drink throughout the day can be a mental health nightmare. Too much caffeine can cause shaky hands, restlessness and irritability, all of which increase stressful feelings.

Instead - drink plenty of water and add more fruit and vegetable to your diet. If you still need a caffeine fix in the morning, try drinking green tea - it’s full of anti oxidants, rich in flavor, and contains half the caffeine that coffee does.

Don’t go all day without eating; that just adds to your stress and when you’re starving it’s very easy to make unhealthy choices.

Positive Thinking

Ultimately, one of the ways to relieve stress is to take responsibility for your feelings and your reactions to stress.

It might be helpful to write down your problems in order to relieve stress, improve your health and to sort out your life. Take a few minutes to write down your deepest thoughts and fears each day, and think about what you can do to change those feelings or situations.

One of the fun ways to relieve stress is to find a bunch of funny movies and television shows and watch them all in a row…
A good laugh can be a great stress reliever: it releases endorphins and other healthy hormones, takes your mind off of stress, and can even provide a decent physical workout. It also leaves you in a more positive frame of mind, and can bond you to those with whom you share a good laugh.

Negativity affects your thought patterns and behaviors subconsciously, and this has an unhealthy impact on your body.
When you find yourself starting to worry, try to stop the thoughts. Work on letting go of things you cannot change.

Always look at the glass as half full instead of half empty. Something as simple as sitting and looking at a tree or taking a slow walk in the park is very healthy for your mind and body. It has a very relaxing, refreshing, and calming affect.

Listening to music is also a great stress reliever. It can significantly decrease depression, fatigue, and total mood disturbance.

Your health is important. It is not selfish to spend time on yourself

Relieving Stress By Working Out

Exercise

Be pro-active against stress, because if you do nothing to reduce or relieve the stress in your life your health will most certainly be negatively impacted.
Finding a few minutes each day can provide a relief from the daily stress and give you the momentum to keep going.

Stretching is one of the best ways to reduce stress and keep healthy. Stretching everyday reduces the possibility of cramps, cricks, and muscle contractions, which add loads of stress to your everyday life.

Another great and free activity is walking. 30 minutes of walking every day can significantly reduce your cholesterol levels and high blood pressure. You should walk at least 3 day a week.

Combine exercising with yoga or meditation, and you have a winning way to be healthy, feel better and forget that you were ever stressed out…

Alternatively, visit a spa or a health club if you're lucky enough to have one nearby.
These are all superb stress-busters and they are seriously enjoyable too.

Breathing

When we are relaxed, our breathing is slow and even. However, when we are anxious or upset our breathing becomes shallow. This cleansing breathing exercise is a great way to relieve stress, that can work wonders on your body and mind.

Breathe in through your nose slowly, Try inhaling deeply and count to 6, then breathe out slowly for another 6 seconds. Then, let your head roll to the right and to the left. Repeat slowly until you feel yourself loosen up. You can, of course, wait less or more than 6 seconds, as long as you are concentrating on deep breaths.

Do it 5 to 10 times in a row and repeat it several times a day. I promise you would feel a lot better.

Stress is very harmful to our mental and physical health, so meditation and deep breathing are excellent ways to relieve all that stress.

Don't Let Stress Ruin Your Life

When in doubt of what you should do when you contemplate ways to relieve stress, take a break. If you can afford a vacation, go on one.

You are the one that put the stress and anxiety on yourself and only you can reduce stress and anxiety. I know for me, taking drugs has a harmful effect on my body and exercising, breathing and eating healthy are much more effective ways.

Stress can affect you physically, emotionally, and psychologically, so be sure that you are doing everything you possibly can to beat stress out of your life.
